Our penguins look fantastic! We had so much fun presenting them today! On a separate note please remember each night (Monday-Thursday) your child has one math assignment and should read for 20 minutes. I understand that things come up however, checking your child’s planner or having a quick look at math assignments will foster good homework habits. If you have questions as always please email me! A friendly reminder our Penguin Projects are due next Friday, January 31st! If your child has not started their project this weekend would be a great time to complete it. I know weekdays are so busy for families!
I have had a few questions about Valentine’s. We will exchange cards (treats are welcome too) as a class. I will be sending home a hard copy and an email with our classmate’s names. Please have your child address their own cards. Boxes or bags are welcome with your child’s name for collecting, (it is not necessary to decorate a fancy Valentine box)! Please check your child’s folder this afternoon for a letter regarding grading for the remainder of the year. One important task third grade teachers have is to help students make the shift from lower elementary to upper elementary school. With this in mind, we will begin adding a percentage to all graded papers going home. This will give you an idea of how your child will be graded in 4th grade when students move towards a traditional report card. Our penguin projects will be due in two short weeks. I hope your child has had the chance to get started on this. January 31st will be here before we know it! Also, we are running low on disinfecting wipes, so we would appreciate any donations! This week we had our guidance lesson with Mrs. Grindstaff and a visit from the Braves stadium employees who take care of the behind the scenes reducing, reusing and recycling! We learned lots of new information to help us with our year long STEAM project!
